Gymnasiums
Since January 2005 over 180 lighting control
systems incorporating the PCS IPC (Industrial Powerline Communications)
technology have been installed in Gymnasiums throughout the
country in conjunction with Sportlite high-bay florescent fixtures.
Sportlite sells different versions of PCS’s communication technology
under the trade-name PulseBloc. In 2008 Sportlite was acquired
by Philips Lighting.
Sportlite high-bay fixtures are particularly
will suited for IPC control because each fixture has four separate
ballasts, each controlling two CFL florescent bulbs. One of
the ballasts can be a 0-10V dimming ballast to enable low level
dimming. The PulseBloc TM module has four outputs for individual
ballast control and an addition output for 0-10V dimming control.
The Sportlite PulseBloc TM module incorporating
PCS’s communication technology can set the Sportlite high-bay
fixture to any one of 8 different lighting levels from 100%
down to 5%. Using manual or contact-closure inputs groups of
Sportlite fixtures can be set to various preset scenes.
PCS’s next generation GreenWorx Technology is a significant
improvement to the Generation II and Generation III IPC technology
deployed by Sportlite over the last four years
